During the 2023 Rogue Hunt, Rogues raised $4,387 to launch the Joel Baque Scholarship as part of the Spread Goodness Like Glitter item. It was just awarded for the first time to a deserving scholar who had recently graduated from the Starfish Foundation: Emily A, an architecture student at La Universidad Laica Vicente Rocafuerte.
“Receiving this scholarship is not only an honor, but also invaluable support for my academic and personal development,” says Emily. “I am committed to making the most of this opportunity, dedicating myself fully to my studies and striving to achieve the established objectives.”
The average family served by the Starfish Foundation lives on $374 / month – That’s an average of $2.32 per person, per day. Because of this, every dollar matters when pursuing higher education. “Your support means a lot to me and my family; I sincerely appreciate your generosity,” says Emily. “I want to thank you for believing in my potential and giving me this incredible opportunity.”
