Rogue-ish Game-A-Thon List

1Image(Image) Draw an outline of your favorite character from a game (Lord Licorice, Mrs. Peacock, etc.) and then draw a line down the middle. Have a child paint/color the left half and you complete the right half. Show us the final product.
2Either(Image or Video up to 30 seconds) The “real” reason dinosaurs went extinct.
3Image(Image) In Good Omens, Aziraphale sets the book shop hours to purposely deter customers from coming in and buying his books. Find and take a picture of a real set of “open hours” that seem to be purposefully vague, confusing, or inconvenient.
4Video(Video – up to 20 seconds) Create a flipbook music video.

6Image(Image) e-Sugoroku boards (aka art sugoroku or 絵双六) have been designed with a variety of themes including fiction, politics, cinema, religion, anime, manga, and even porn. Design your own version of the board with a new theme to showcase your personal interests /hobbies.
7Either(Image or Video up to 1 minute) La Poutine Week is the largest poutine festival that takes place annually in Canada, with over 700 restaurants making poutines. Poutine is known for being a bit rustic and messy, but not yours! Elevate this traditional dish by adding new ingredients or changing the baking method to make it worthy of a 5-Star restaurant.
8Either(Image or Video up to 1 minute) February is Black History month in the United States. Research the work, teaching, or writings of a Black individual from your own hometown. Create an educational poster or video showcasing their accomplishments.
9Image(Image) Food pantries often get tons of donations over the holidays and then struggle throughout the rest of the winter. Make a food or monetary donation to your local pantry or shelter.
10Image(Image) The problem with snow and ice art is that it always melts. To ensure it survives all year long, carve this year’s winter wonderland scene in a bar of soap.
11Video(Video – up to 15 seconds) Soap bubbles freeze! And it looks super cool! Capture the magic (science!) on film.
12Either(Image or Video – up to 15 seconds) Bring your favorite board game to life. You and your friends should be the pieces (or other moving parts) in this life-size version.
13Either(Image or Video – up to 20 seconds). You’ve probably heard of the classic card game, Uno!, but did you know the company has also made a Dos and a Quatro? Which leads us to wonder: What happened to Tres? Show us the scandal that lead to Tres being removed from card game history.
14Image(Image) The animal for the 2024 Chinese New Year is a Wood Dragon. This introverted creature often struggles with relationships, but still represents power, nobleness, honor, luck, and success. Using wood, build an introverted dragon that will bring luck, honor, and success to your life in 2024.

16Image(Image) Knit at least one scarf/hat and give it to someone who needs warmth this winter. If you live south of the equator, you can knit socks or a pair of washcloths instead. 18Image(Image) Have you noticed how “ugly Christmas sweaters” are actually kind of cute and funny? Let’s fix that. Make a truly horrendously ugly Christmas sweater and rock it. If Christmas is in summertime for you, rock your truly horrendous combination of Christmas summer items to create the best (worst) holiday outfit.

20Image(Image) Many of us have board games or card games that have been sitting on a shelf somewhere gathering dust. Sort through your no-longer-in-use games and/or those of your friends, find the ones in good condition, and donate them to an organization in your community.

23Either(Image or Video up to 30 seconds) Three celebrities who passed away in 2023 – Andrea Fay Friedman, Ellen Holly, and Kenneth Anger – were pioneers of representation in TV and/or film. Create a moving tribute to one or more of these icons.
24Video(Video – up to 2 minutes) Happy Valentine’s Day! Act out an alternate ending to your favorite RomCom.
25Video(Video up to 15 seconds) Alas! Dr. Black (alias: Mr. Boddy) has been murdered! But whodunnit? and where? and with what weapon? Answer this classic Cluedo mystery by playacting the grisly murder that took place before the game began. [Please follow community guidelines for posting to social platforms, please be responsible with your weapon of choice, and please don’t actually murder anyone because that’s against the law.]
26Video(Video – up to 30 seconds) In Mongolia, they play a game called ‘Shagai’ using sheep ankle bones as a way to use every part of the animal. Create a new game that utilizes something that would otherwise be wasted / discarded and show us how to play.
27Image(Image) Complete the chain reaction word puzzle challenge by connecting each word with the one above and below it. We have one solution in mind, but as long as your responses make sense, we’ll accept any answers.
28Either(Image or Video up to 15 seconds) Valentine’s Day is all about sharing the love (and sweets!). Create a sweet treat of your choice and share it with a loved one. Your treat must include a message on top that could/should appear on a candy heart.
