Rogue-Ish:

The Hunt is now closed

The Game-A-Thon has begun and will continue through 8pm ET on Sunday, February 18! Do one item or all of them (I mean, you can try). Remember to use #RogueHunt in all your posts so we can celebrate them (and maybe give you prizes). We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Updates:

  • Item 6: Spelling fixed and clarification added on type of Sugoroku board

We’re half way to August, time for a mini hunt!

Cost: $5

Theme: Your favorite childhood board games!

Style: Individual Hunt. Your ticket purchase grants you access to the list. You’re welcome to work with other Rogues to complete items.

Submission: Items should be posted to Instagram, Twitter (X), or Bluesky with the hashtag #RogueHunt and the item number during the hunt if you want them seen by judges. (You’re welcome to share your work in the Treehouse or on Discord after the hunt ends.)

Prizes: 2-3 items will be selected to win a judge’s prize. There are no team prizes or overall prizes.

When: You have 72-hours to gamify your Rogue experience: Thursday, February 15, 8pm Eastern Standard Time – February 18, 8pm Eastern Standard Time

Rogue-Ish Rules

For the most part, the general Rogue Rules apply, but some changes…

  1. Item Interpretation. We’d prefer you don’t, but this mini hunt is a little more loosey-goosey wishy-washy than our August Hunt and we want to see your creative brilliance. So, if you can have fun and impress us, go for it!
  2. Teams. This is an individual hunt, but collaboration is fine. You’re welcome to work alone or with other Rogues. However, each item will be judged independently and prizes will be given to the people who post the winning submissions.
  3. Prizes. Speaking of, there will only be judge’s prizes for the Game-A-Thon. There is no overall team winner, no altruist prize, and no item specific prize.
  4. Registration Fees. The Game-A-Thon costs $5 per player. Paying this fee will give you access to the list when it goes live on February 15th at 8pm Eastern Time. These fees will go partially to keeping Rogue alive (taxes, ad-free website, and all that not-so-fun back end stuff) and partially towards prizes.
  5. Submitting Items: See How to Play below
  6. Sharing Your Work on Social Media: This is FINE. In fact, it’s NECESSARY. Use the correct hashtags to ensure your item is seen / judged.
  7. Points. There are none. Sorry.
Actually, that’s a lie. Registrants will get some non-zero number of points just for registering. (Edit: the number is 60). These will apply to the individual person and not be used in terms of prizes or scoring. They’re just there for you to have and cherish. Actually part 2: You can’t even see them. But they exist. And they can see you.

These rules may be updated at any time for clarity’s sake or to cover the gazillion things we haven’t thought of yet.

How to Play

  1. Complete the item as it’s described on the task list
  2. Share your videos/images on Twitter, Bluesky, or Instagram with the hashtag #RogueHunt and the item number before the hunt ends at 8pm Eastern Standard Time on Sunday, February 18.
    Example: #RogueHunt – Item 2
  3. As always, you should only complete and post each item on the list once.

The Rogue Hunt logo. The words are thick black with a neon orange and teal outline. The words "The" and "Rogue" are written in bold script while Hunt is written in all caps.
